An exhibition and silent auction of paintings, drawings, textiles, prints and
much more is to be held at Frameus Gallery, Market Street, Wells, BA5 2DS
from September 25th until October 30th 2010.

The exhibition will be open each day, Monday to Saturday from 9.30am-5.30pm.
All the artwork, which has been very generously donated, is for sale by silent auction throughout the exhibition. The proceeds will go to the Bishopston Kuppam Friendship Link, supporting the amazing work they are doing in Tamil Nadu, South India.

The charity is supporting three exciting projects in the area of KV Kuppam. The One Candle Project was set up in 2004 in order to provide small bursaries to children from very poor socio-economic backgrounds to enable them to complete their education.

Education is highly valued in India and is seen as a way out of poverty.
Once selected, One Candle Project children are supported throughout their education, and this year one of the girls who inspired the project has qualified as a nurse and is now able to support her widowed mother and her sister.

The charity has funded the construction of a small building, the Pachaikili Centre, and in 2009 they were able to set up a play centre where learning through play has been extremely effective in encouraging the children to take responsibility for their own learning, which is a good basis for their subsequent educational success.

This year one of the rooms in the Pachaikili Centre has been set up in readiness
for the opening of an innovative centre for the elderly. Whilst many elderly people
are cared for within the family unit there is an increasing number of isolated
elderly people who are struggling to support themselves. The centre will
provide companionship, a simple snack and health checks.

The PREVIEW is to be held on Saturday 25th September 2010 from 3pm-7pm and everyone is welcome. Bids are made at any time during the exhibition on a bidding form and when bidding closes on October 30th 2010, the highest bidder is successful.
